Effective January 1, 2003,
the Florida Society of Certified Public Managers approved a
voluntary FSCPM Continuing Education Program. This voluntary
program encourages individual professional growth and asks the
CPM to submit 20 points to initially qualify for the FSCPM
Continuing Education Program and a total of 20 points to
requalify every three years. Participation is voluntary for members and required for Board members. The Continuing
Education Committee Chairperson serves as the central
collection point for voluntary initial qualifications and
requalifications. Documents that may be suitable for
publication in the CPM Times will be sent by the Continuing
Education Chairperson to the FSCPM Newsletter Editor. The
point criteria is as follows: Effective November 6, 2009 5 points each 3 points each 2 points each Points are submitted as they are earned or annually (based on the calendar year) by using the
CEP form (Word document) and e-mailing per form instructions to the chair of the Continuing Education Committee. All submissions that lead to qualification received prior to 12/31 will be recognized at the annual awards banquet. A high quality certificate is awarded for the initial qualification at the annual awards banquet. A Certificate of Participation is awarded to each person that re-qualified during the previous year at the annual awards banquet. Recognition for participation in the program for significant years (5/10/15/20 year) will be specially recognized at the annual awards banquet. A report of the actions of the Continuing Education Committee/Program will be prepared and sent to the designated person before each scheduled meeting of the Board of Directors. |
