Effective January 1, 2003, (points updated 05/01/05) the Florida Society of Certified Public Managers approved a voluntary FSCPM Continuing Education Program. This voluntary program encourages individual professional growth and asks the CPM to submit 20 points to initially qualify for the FSCPM Continuing Education Program and a total of 20 points to voluntarily requalify every three years. The Continuing Education Committee Chairperson serves as the central co llection point for voluntary initial qualifications and requalifications. Documents that may be suitable for publication in the CPM Times will be sent by the Continuing Education Chairperson to the FSCPM Newsletter Editor.

5 Points for each of the following:
Mentoring a current CPM student
Chapter/Society/Academy officer positions held
Committee chairperson positions held at Chapter/Society/Academy level for the majority of each calendar year
3 Points for each of the following:
Article written about management, leadership books read or original management, or leadership subjects that are submitted to the Continuing Education Committee Chairperson and the Newsletter Editor for possible publication in the CPM Times quarterly newsletter
Management/leadership presentation given at a Chapter/Society/Academy training symposium
Holding a committee position at chapter level for the majority of a calendar year
2 Points for each of the following:
Attendance at chapter general membership training /business meeting
2 day attendance at FSCPM/AACPM training symposiums, Level VIII Graduation, college classes, agency management/leadership classes, or web-based management/leadership training
